~*~ New year eve ~*~

新年快乐 ! 恭喜发财!

Reunion lunch was at my house in the afternoon & dinner at BB's house in the evening. Dad was unable to join us for CNY this year as he is in malaysia. Went out straight for some very last min shopping after lunch at my house. I couldn't get any clothings while dear bought 2 t-shirt from num & 3 shirts from G2000 for himself, his bro & his dad. I got one for dad as well.

Like the previous years, we were over at River Hong Bao on new year eve to countdown. Walked ard & gather at a spot to catch the 10 mins or so fireworks. There's really not much CNY mood this year. But the fireworks was great esp to be watching it together with BB.

The rest of the group left for KTV session while the four of us when to walked ard the other parts of the fair. Wanted to had supper but ended up at esplanade & started with our photo session with all the cloths which happened to be on display in the main area. After which we walked to marina square to get the car, spent a long time trying to locate the car and then got a lift home by ji xiang.

I always felt that our friendship with ji xiang & shiling is just soo soo special. I dun know how i should put it but the 4 of us will always be together to celebrate the festive season without fail. No doubt if it's Xmas eve, end-of-the-year countdown, CNY, prawn-catching session, movie session or JB trip. It happens soo many times and it's not coincidental. Amazing~

~*~ Been quite awhile... ~*~

Happy with my purchases ytd.

Collected my skirt from Tiong Bahru Pepper Plus, shop ard while waiting for eileen to knock off. Bought my first product from The Face Shop - Rice mask pack.

Headed off to meet ling at Suntec City, dinner was at one of the Ramen restaurant in the foodcourt. Sze chun ramen was very very filing. Had a short dinner so that we have more time to shop. Bought another lace top from ebase at a discounted price of $12. I have 3 of the same design but of diff colours, bought the green one ytd. Fetish for lace clothings these days.

Went over to Marina Square but not for long cos most of the shops were closing. Bought a pair of lovely butterfly earrings from Mini Bits for $10.90

Been quite awhile since i posted the 3 of our photos up here. Nw that i come to think of it, the last time we met up was during the xmas chalet which was a month ago. That was long, considering we used to meet up twice a month or sometimes even to the extend of meeting up on every weekends. Those were the carefree & less busy days.

(Girls, let's make a pact to at least meet up once every month k?)

This evening will be another round of shopping with BB at Bugis. I need to get a pair of jeans!

~*~ ~*~

CNY is just round the corner & there are heaps of things to be done, spring-cleaning, shopping & all.

Went shopping after work @ JP ytd. Bought 2 working skirts from pepper plus. It's just so difficult to get fitting working clothings so whenever i find fitting ones i'll always buy 2 pcs of the same design but different colours. Gonna collect the other piece at tiong bahru plaza today.

Trimed my eyebrows as well. Wanted to do facial but fully booked for today & tmw, guess i can only do it after the CNY.

Off to lunch soon, heading out for shopping at suntec this evening~

Been very bz these days, meeting the gals for shopping this thurs & with BB on friday. Can't wait for the long long CNY holidays to come. BB will be off from fri till 2 Feb as well that means we can have more quality time together.

~*~ Weekend Getaway ~*~

Back from Kukup. Nice weekend getaway.
It sorta brings everyone closer together.
The seafood there was great, esp the crabs & prawns.

Went to Kukup Mangrove Island, the most rewarding part after finishing the trail was to reach a 5-storey tower with a manificent view of the entire island. The view from the top was great! We were in the middle of the island & surrounding us were all trees. Walked past the suspension bridge as well, though i was afraid of height but i conquered it.

Went to visit the fish farm before gg back to our chalets. The night and evening were spent eating & playing games away - Uno, Jenga, Taboo. Lotsa fun & laughter.

The most memorable part was, we purchased firecrackers & light them in the dark sky. So nice & so near, it's just like what we get to see during xmas, CNY & NDP celebrations, just that it only lasted for abt a min or so.

Home sweet home on sun but we stop over at city square for an hour of shopping before heading back to sg.

~*~ Dreams.. Dreams ~*~

I had a dream the day before & i vividly rmb i dreamt of sheep & wolfs.
So i went to check on the internet & found these:

Sheep
To see sheep in your dream, indicates that you lack initiative to venture out on your own. You feel uncreative and just conforming or going along with the flow.

Wolf
To see a wolf in your dream, symbolizes beauty, solitude, mystery, self-confidence and pride. You are able to keep your composure in a variety of social situations and can blend in with any situation with ease and grace. You are a loner by choice. Negatively, it represents hostility and aggression. It may also reflect an uncontrollable force or situation in your life. In particular, if the wolf is white, then it signifies valor and victory. You have the ability to see the light even in your darkest hours. To dream that you kill a wolf, indicates betrayal and secrets revealed.

Dreams are weird~

~*~ Random ~*~

I finally figuered out how to post chinese characters here. Been trying out for the whole day. Found out that the problem lies with the code itself rather than the characters.

I also tried uploading songs into nano myself for the first time ever since i bought it. The songs that was in it previously was uploaded by my bro.

St Ives intensive conditioner moisture treatment is really gd, just tried one just now. It contains rosemary and mint which leave the scalp feeling very refreshing & cooling. Especially gd for dry and damaged hair.

Spending 20 - 30 mins everyday after shower to style & manage my hair and also waking up earlier than before to style my hair again in the morning. Having permed hair means there is no need to comb my hair which i havent gotten used to though it can be a real hassle at times but i'm still loving it.

Gonna go to bed. Tired Tired. Getting tired easily these days.

~*~ Couch Potato ~*~

Finally finished watching TVB drama series - 酒店风云. Nice show!

Chinatown was soo packed with ppl on sat, it's gg to be worst this weekend & the next. Luckily it didn't rain. Bought another pair of sunglasses.

Yeah! Next friday onwards till 2 Feb will be 1 whole week of long break. Best time to go on vacation but too bad, BB doesn't want to go during CNY. Aniway, i've thought of lotsa places to go to, lotsa things to do during that period of long holiday.

CNY is just next week but i've yet to purchase any clothings. Gonna go shopping on friday if not there's really not much time left to shop since i will be at Kukup this weekend.

I'm not very keen on gg on this trip but i don't have a choice since everyone will be there so i just have to go along. How can it be fun when all ur bosses are gg as well?

Hopefully, it's gonna be better than what i think.

Permed Hair.

That was what i came home with on tue nite.

Perming & colouring my hair at the same time has made my hair so so dry. Still trying to figure out how i should manage them. It gets so messy at times (esp in the mornings when i wake up) and i dun know what i should do to keep them in place.

Been wanting to permed my hair for a long time, finally had the courage to do it. The comments from my colleagues were nt bad, nice perm but some still prefer my straight hair. As for myself, i think it's a pretty gd change but i'm still trying to get used to it.

Finally had fondue with dear at esplanade's haagen dazs in the afternoon before we went over to suntec to do our hair. Delicious! But the serving was kinda big & we got quite sick of it but we still finish everything. The serving would be just nice for 4 person.

Though it's Friday the 13th today but it was a gd day. Cos it's BONUS day!! I got soo much more than what i expected, considering that i started work only in mid-april, which is 2.5 months for that finanical year. Hopefully the company will continue doing so well & then i can get another big fat bonus in july.

Happy Happy! My first ever bonus though it's pro-rated. It's shopping time!

Am in the midst of planning for a short getaway at Bintan for our 6th anniversary.

Ytd nite dear & myself came up with a whole list of holiday destination we wanna visit or rather i want to visit. Cos i have got more places in mind which i wanna visit than him.

* Hong Kong - HK Disneyland

* New Zealand

Sydney, Melbourne & New Zealand are places which dear wanna visit as well. Will save money & slowly visit these places one by one over the years. Speaking of gg travelling really makes me happy.

~*~ ~*~

Shopping day.

Lunch was at ikea. We shared a kid's spaghetti & i had all 10 pcs of Swedish meatballs to myself cos dear din wan to eat any of them. And he had all 6 pcs of chicken wings to himself. Very very full, i already had lunch at home before i came out. *Bloated*

Shopping starts at queensway shoppping center. Intended plans was for dear to shop for new year clothes & shoes but ended up me buying a set of bikini for $26 & light yellow addidas bag for $39. The bag was what i've been wanting to get but couldn't get it cos it was already off the shelves at that pt of time. Lucky me to have found it at one of the shop that was selling limited edition stuffs.

Went over to anchorpoint with the intention of using my Haagen Dazs vouchers for chocolate fondue but they told us their ice cream weren't ready yet. But we were suspecting that they din have enough fondue set to go ard cos 2 other customers that came before us ordered fondues as well. Sad! Sad! Sad! So we left without having any fondues, another day perhaps. But still i was happy with my purchases today. *So broke*

I was even more broke after giving mum & dad each an additional $100 for the chinese new year. Including the amt i gave them monthly, i am $500 poorer for this month.

Random.

It's gd that dear is nw off on either sat/ sun rather than work on weekends & off on weekdays.

Weekends Off = More quality time together + More shopping trips & activities/events + most importantly a Happier ME!

I'm gg to do something to my hair next week. A big change. I hope it turns out gd.

I'm dying to go on a HOLIDAY! Hong Kong or Bangkok.

~*~ Love Lesson ~*~

Find these very meaningful. Extracted from someone's blog.

Love Lesson #1

Many couples in love make this mistake- defining commitment according to the level of happiness that exists in the relationship. Commitment is a decision, not a feeling. It may be fed by emotions of love and desire, but it is anchored in place by choice and moral integrity. Emotions shift. Commitment must be sturdier. It is not difficult to commit to someone you love. It is harder but critically important to remain committed when adversity strikes or passion withers. Otherwise, you are not devoted to the other person. You are only devoted to the feeling of being in love.

Every couple needs a certain amount of closeness and a certain amount of separateness. But when u are not fully committed, you will never fully give yourself to the relationship. Since committment is ultimately a decision, you must first commit yourself to choosing. You must choose to do the kinds of things that people in truly committed r/ps do. A moral-based commitment is a commitment to the marriage vows and to your partner's human dignity and spiritual growth. It means a willingness to remain devoted to the othe rperson despite hardship, fluctuations in passion etc. The feelings of being in love shifts. We must be stronger than our feelings.

Love Lesson #2

Your r/p is like a boat on the ocean seeking the shore. It needs a direction and an ultimate destination, otherwise it is lost. One reason why r/ps aren't satisfying is that the goals pple set are often based on self-gratification instead of soul-gratification.Pple crave the sweets of life (success, money, sex) and a short time later they want more. Part of the problem is that pple act in ways that diminish, rather than inspire, hope.

Some pple seek vainly to find lasting happiness through pleasure and miss out on discovering joy. Happiness is fleeting and subject to the whims of an arbitrary world. Joy goes deeper. It is a by-product of having a meaningful life. Joyous pple are able to see beyond the day-to-day frustrations and discover that their life is rich in meaning and purpose, regardless of adversity.

Too many r/p lack purpose and therefore are either dead or dying. The couples simply go along day after day without a sense that their life tog has any real meaning. In contrast, hopeful pple persevere in their efforts to make their r/ps wonderful and fulfilling. Hope is a yearning for good to happen, combined with a belief that it can happen.

~*~ Away from work ~*~

Accomplished most of the things that we've planned for today.

Like me, dear took leave as well. We had mac breakfast at jp first before gg cck to watch 11:30 show - 'A chinese tall story'. Got free movie tickets, but the show sucks big time. We left the cinema 45 mins into the show cos it was very very lame & boring.

Took train to city, linger ard citilink & raffles city before making our way to the malaysian high commission at hill street. We were still early so went over to funan centre for some snacks at delifrance. Settled everything there & then headed to ICA to submit some docs.

Wanted to shop at bugis street but dear was too tired so we took train home instead. Stopped over at JP POSB branch to open our joint savings account. Bought more St Ives products (shampoo, conditioner & mask) from john little after trying the conditioner from the john little sale at expo the other time.

We bought pizza back home for dinner. Still feeling soo soo full.
Tmw is back to work again, i guess there should be alot of work pilling up for me. Weekends are coming! Yeah!

Today was a gd day. If only we could spend everyday like tat with each other's company.

~*~ A brand new year! ~*~

Happy New Year! Happy 2006!

New year eve was spent with, dear, shiling, ji xiang, yan fern & bf at mind cafe playing board games. We spend our 3 hours there playing these games: Haunted mansion, Jenga & Pit Deluxe.

Initially haunted mansion seems kinda boring when the staff explained the game to us but it became more interested as we slowly understand how the whole game is being played.

We were all starving, had dinner only at 9:30pm at hong kong street chun kee located at queensway followed by midnight movie - The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion Witch And The Wardrobe at JP.

Narnia was not bad, dear was watching it for the second time. After the movie, ji xiang drove us home & we realised that this was exactly how we celebrated last year's new year as well. Dinner at hong kong street chun kee followed by midnight movie at JP, even the place he drop us off was of the same location. Ironic isn't it?

I realised ppl (including myself) made resolutions at the start of every year & ultimately none of it were being accomplished. So i'm gg to make only 1 resolution & stick to it for 2006:

- Opened a joint savings account with dear & have a combined savings of 10k at the end of 2006. (A small start of saving for the future together)

May 2006 be a smooth-sailing one for eveyone!
