~*~ Career Seminar with Adam Khoo ~*~

Now there are more reasons to shop, cos GREAT SINGAPORE SALE starts ytd. Wahaa haa. I want to drag dear to go shopping with me.

Bought a long term savings plan from Prudential few days ago, actually this few weeks were in the midst of discussing the various plans with the financial advisers, Andrew & Juliana, recommened to me by ling. They were friendly ppl, so cute & so bubbly.. Bought a savings plan which i will save $100 every month for the next 25 years & then by tat time (25 years later) i'm able to get the lump sum + interest. There are another plan which he introduced to me but the min savings every month is $200 & it involves investments. Not to say tat investments are no gd but i have a very negative mind abt investment plans. Like.. investments sure gg to lose $ & things like tat but i do trust tat he is a gd adviser who gives gd advices. And at this pt of time my only focus is on savings & not investments & i think it's gd to start off with savings first rather than jumping into savings & investment straight away. I dun think anyone who sign up for savings plan for the first time would start with an investment plan first, maybe for those very adventurous ones but not for me. I prefer to take the secure route first untill i'm comfortable with investments, maybe 2 or 3 years later. Tat's y after all the dicussions i choose the savings plan over the savings cum investment plan.

This afternoon, met eileen & ling for the career seminar featuring Adam Khoo at paya lebar. We were invited to the seminar by our financial advisers & i should say the seminar was a fruitful one. Short introduction of Adam Khoo for those who don't know him: an entrepreneur, a best selling author & a trainer. An honours degree in Business Adminstration from NUS & a self-made millionarie by the age of 26. He owns & runs 3 different companies himself.

This is what i get to know from the seminar & i belong to.. OF COURSE the 95% group, i wish, hope, prefer, would like to be successful but was nv successful. Majority of the ppl belong to the 95% group, want to be successful but no action taken. But it's hard cos success does not come by chance.

5% of the ppl are committed to succeed
(They must succeed & do whatever it takes to be successful)

95% of the ppl wish, hope, prefer, would like to be successful

Ppl live for their Dreams & Goals. But from the start i dun have any golas in life, wat i wanna be 10 or 20 years down the road tat's y i'm struck in a job which i have no passion in. I need Aspirations!! It's quite scary to not know wat u are living for.. I really hope i won't stay long in my current job, i dun wan to fall into the comfort zone & then become so relucant to move on. I want to be a teacher, tat's my ambition from young. I really hope i can pass my re-take eng 'O' levels well so tat i could apply for the teacher position. Orals are in aug & written paper in nov but i feel tat time is running out & i haven't been doing much to improve my eng. Haiz..

Finally finish reading Digital Fortress, took me sooo long to finish the book. A thick book with alot of description on the characters & places. Came across this word 'Without Wax' in the book afew times & have seen ppl using it but dun know wat's the meaning of it.

' In ancient days, the spanish sculptors who made mistakes while carving expensive marble often patched their flaws with the aid of melted beeswax - 'cera' . A statue that had no flaws & required no patching was known as a 'sculpture sin cera' or a 'sculpture without wax'. The pharse eventually came to mean anything honest or true' The english word ' sincere' evolved from the spanish sin cera - 'Without Wax'
(extracted from 'Digita Fortress' - Dan Brown)

.... so Without Wax simply means 'Sincere'

It seems like everyone is gg on a holiday, bro is gg to Tioman tml while mum is gg to Beijing next week. Arrrg! When is my next holidays coming up?
